KCP&L Metropolitan Reliability Plan

To meet growing demands in Kansas City's midtown and downtown, KCP&L requires a new transmission line and substation along the Troost corridor. We would like input from our customers being affected by this process to plan the most effective substation location.

Community Advisory Group focused on Economic Development
In making upgrades to the electrical infrastructure along the Troost corridor, KCP&L wants to be a catalyst for positive change and a partner for economic development. While we engage in dialogue with the community, all property options remain open.

KCP&L has established a community advisory group to address the electric power capacity deficiency in central Kansas City and to help determine how KCP&L can provide the spark for urban renewal and economic development along Troost Avenue. A part of the group's determination will be how the increased electrical demand will be met in this corridor.

The community advisory group includes the businesses, civic organizations, and representatives from neighborhood associations in and around Troost Avenue, that could be affected, elected officials or their representatives, city planners and KCP&L employees.
